Insights Into Interior Design Designing In Style. Part Iii Traditional – Georgian

Interior design has always been impacted by fashion trends – both historically and in the modern day. In this article series, “Designing in Style,” I explore the meaning of style for interior designers. I draw on my experience working alongside many of London’s best-known interior design teams.

This third article in my series continues my discussion of traditional/period design, with a focus on the Georgian style.

In terms of dates, the Georgian period is generally considered to have extended from 1714 until 1830. It has since inspired one of the most popular traditional interior design schemes.

London design was considered world-class in Georgian times – UK craftspeople were highly skilled and uniquely specialised. The wealthiest classes insisted on the highest quality, with exacting standards in terms of dimensions and proportions.

A few designers were particularly famous during the Georgian era. Their names, ideas and concepts live on today in the many homes and residences that feature Georgian-inspired interior designs.

William Kent lived from 1684 until 1748 and was an architect/interior designer who is best known for his tables and chairs which featured extravagant gilt decorations and strong connections to Greek and Roman insignia. Today these traditional designs continue to be used by many London Interior Design Consultancies that specialise in the Georgian style.

Thomas Chippendale is a name famous to many discerning Londoners. This cabinet-maker lived from 1718 until 1779 and designed furniture that was less ostentatious than that of William Kent, consistent with British (and London) tastes at the time, and yet exceedingly graceful and refined. Interior designers today will adopt either Chippendale’s original designs or re-envisionments/replicas of his originals.

Finally, Robert Adam was an architect and interior designer who dominated the 1770s with his vivacious use of Roman and Greek motifs, including urns, tripods, and mythological iconography.

Today, London interior design consultancies tend to be cautious with Georgian designs, recognising that this style can look pretentious if too pronounced. Larger, more spacious London mansions with tall ceilings are best suited to the Georgian style of interior design.

Toyoto Introduces The Toy The First Pedal Car For Adults

In an effort to rescue drivers from the high cost of gasoline, Toyota has announced the introduction of the Toy, the first car for grownups that is operated like a childs pedal car.

Its main benefit is, of course, that it requires no gas. There is, however, a limit as to how far the vehicle can travel on one adults leg power.

The resourceful auto giant maintains that the encumbrance is not a drawback at all, because adults can change places at the wheel. While one pedals, the other can rest.

The company also proclaims that the new car is the first that conditions you while you drive. As a result, it claims that the vehicle will benefit all purchasers with improved heart health, greater longevity and, most vital of all, increased energy to pedal all the farther.

We view the Toy as our most advanced product, the chairman of Toyota avowed. Its way out in front of even our own hybrids in term of fuel efficiency, and it saves a lot of steps in the production of ethanol. Now, drivers need only eat corn and soy beans to generate energy to propel the vehicle.

One of the first owners of the Toy was ecstatic. I cant tell you how good it feels to pedal past a gas station and know you no longer have to pull in and empty your wallet. But pedaling for miles can take some getting used to. When I work up a sweat, Im really happy that the Toy comes with air conditioning. I just reach out and start to crank the dashboard-mounted fan.

Have you given some thought to a car salesman career. The current state of the auto industry shows us that this is an ideal time to enter into a car sales career. Today the car makers are taking more responsibility for the satisfaction of the car buyer and their car buying experience. In order to improve and clean up the image of the car salesman the dealer, sales people and the manufacturers are making change and improvements. The less than desirable car salesman image from the past is hard to change, but things are getting better as the car salesman is learning to be a true car sales professional.

Selling cars is much more than going for a ride with customers and that is why the turnover rate can be higher than other careers. Sorry, but that is not the case when it comes to selling cars. A career in car sales might be a great alternative for the person that can’t afford or desire to go to college. Going to college and having a degree is not a requirement to be a car salesman. Selling cars for a living doesn’t require college and it still has the potential to create an annual income of 100K or more. No experience needed at most dealers because they will teach you how to sell cars with their method. One great feature of selling cars is that your dealership will train and mentor you so that you can start making a very good sales income.

The perks that go along with a car salesman career can include a new car demo, first crack at all fresh trade-ins, an unstructured workday and a chance to have some fun with your fellow car sales people. One of the greatest things about selling cars for a living is being able to control your own income, you can make as much or little as you want. Now you decide, if you like making money, having great benefits and no chance of being bored think about a car sales career.

s Clothes – Retro Clothing Making A Comeback

Who can really say that variety is a bad thing? Retro styles are working their way back onto the fashion scene. It’s hard to find people who don’t appreciate 80’s style clothing.

Some people really disliked the vibrant colors associated with 80s fashion, but others embraced them for being unique and stylish. Back in the 80s people wore clothes that were much brighter than most people do today, which is a huge part of why they have gotten so popular over the past two years. However, the colors themselves are not the only reason for the clothes to have made such a big comeback. The outlandishly unique style of the clothes is another huge part of their appeal.

For example, back in 80s, legwarmers are very popular. These leg covers are usually soft and, in some cases, furry; this makes them the perfect match for those working out in colder regions of the world. While these days they are generally not something you see, those that embrace 80s clothes absolutely love legwarmers. Among many other things that stood out, legwarmers are absolutely symbolic of the style of the 80s.

Oversized sweatshirts and shirts were very popular during the 1980s. These types asserts are generally worn by women, however sometimes are also worn by men. These are stylized by the fact that they generally had neck areas were large enough to also reveal one of the shoulders. This style was widely popularized by the classic film Flash Dance.

The absolute epitome of 80s clothes is in a completely neon wardrobe, and if you can pull that off then anybody would be a will recognize what decade we’re dressing yourself as if you were in.

Today’s man hair style can be either long and textured or super short and tight and still be considered trendy and at the height of fashion. Some men’s hair styles require gel, mousse or pomade while others don’t even need to be combed. The truth is that now more than ever there are numerous ways to achieve a stylish and trendy man hair cut. That means that there are a lot of different styles for men who are looking for the perfect man hair style to choose from.

While the man’s hair style is less rigid than it was in the 80s and requires a lot less goo to accomplish, the modern man hair cut is still best served by a little styling. No, you do not need to spend hours in front of the mirror coaxing every strand into place, but a little gel never hurt any man’s hair style that I know of.

Here are just a few of the latest trends in men’s hair styles and how to style them:

By far the most popular man’s hair style is the High and Tight or Fade. Characterized by a closely cropped clipper cut around the sides and back of the head with just enough hair on top of the head to comb, this man’s hair style with its many variations accounts for about 75 percent of all popular styles today. With just a little bit of gel to spike up the top, mess it up a little or finger into place, this man’s hair style will only take you seconds to achieve. While you may have to get it cut more often, about every three weeks or so, the ease of styling this man hair cut is what makes it a favorite among busy men today.

“Medium length, textured men’s hair style. Today’s styles for men have a lot of texture and the same is true for medium-length styles (about 3 to 4 inches). These styles resemble the classic man hair cut of the past, but step it up a notch by using extreme texture and color to bring it all together. Most styles use a great deal of razoring and texturizing with notching scissors. To style this man’s hair style pomade usually works best. Work product through dry hair and finger into place.

“Long man’s hair style. While most men do not wear their hair down their back anymore, the long man’s hair style has made a somewhat shorter comeback. Perhaps the most recognizable example that I can give of this men’s hair style is Ashton Kutcher. Long, textured and disheveled, this man hair cut is gaining widespread popularity. Again, this man’s hair cut requires a lot of texture and works best with pomade.

As you can see from these few examples, the man’s hair style is far from boring. Gone are the days of cookie-cutter barber shop man hair cut. Here to stay is the trendy and styled cuts of today.
